Kirsten BallKirsten Ball joined OHNC as the Chief Financial Officer in April 2016. Kirsten was born in Arizona to a pilot (crop duster, Air Force/National Guard Fighter Pilot, and eventually airline pilot) and a nurse. After spending time at various Air Force and Guard bases in Texas and Arizona the family settled in Minnesota and then South Dakota where Kirsten’s two sisters were born.

Kirsten arrived in Alaska in 1985 seeking adventure in the Last Frontier.   While working full time as an Office Manager and Bookkeeper at a doctor’s office, Kirsten worked her way through school and graduated from the University of Alaska-Anchorage in 1995 with honors and a degree in Business. Soon after graduating, Kirsten earned her CPA credentials and went to work as a staff auditor with Deloitte and Touché LLP. While working at Deloitte, Kirsten got to travel all over the state auditing different clients.

For 6 years, she spent up to 12 weeks a year on Kodiak Island, auditing the City of Kodiak, the Kodiak Island Borough and the school district. She also began to specialize in banking clients and ANCSA corporations.  Koniag, Chugach Alaska Corporation, Afognak Native Corporation and Arctic Slope Regional Corporation became her recurring clients.  In 2001, the Deloitte and Touché office in Anchorage decided to close, and most of the staff were offered positions at KPMG.

Kirsten moved over to KPMG as a senior manager of audit and soon thereafter, was offered a position at ASRC as the Director of Financial Reporting.

Kirsten worked at ASRC in various capacities for the next several years.   In 2008 Kirsten went to work for a Chugach Region village corporation and stayed with them over the next 7 years, during which time they experienced record growth, doubled their equity size and navigated the 8(a) and government contracting landscape. In 2015 Kirsten launched her own management consulting company, and began consulting on strategic management, investment analysis, due diligence and corporate reorganizations with several clients.

Kirsten currently serves on the YWCA Alaska Board and serves as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee.

Kirsten has one son, Hunter, who just turned 18 and is a senior in high school. Kirsten and her significant other, Ray, also own and operate a seasonal road construction company in Alaska.

Kirsten and her family enjoy fishing on their boat in Prince William Sound, traveling, camping, and spending time with family and friends. The family participates in the NHRA Drag Racing Series for Division 6 and 7 with three different race cars in the lower 48 states.  Ray also drives for other teams when requested and recently received his Professional Top Fuel Funny Car license, driving the car owned by the world champion TAFC driver Del Worsham.
