Shurina Gronn

Kodiak Operations Manager

Shurina Gronn is the Kodiak Operations Manager for Old Harbor Native Corporation (OHNC), where she is dedicated to serving shareholders and descendants living in the city of Kodiak.

She brings more than a decade of experience in finance, administration, and community service. Before joining OHNC, Shurina worked in executive administration with Providence, served as both a teacher and office secretary for the Kodiak Island Borough School District, and spent nine years as Finance Manager for the Native Village of Afognak. In that role, she oversaw tribal financial operations, managed staff, supported program development, and played a key role in audit preparation, human resources, and community engagement. She also led numerous youth camps and organized community events that strengthened cultural and community connections across Kodiak.

Born and raised in Kodiak, Shurina is the daughter of Carl and Violet (Christiansen) Gronn. She is a proud mother of five children, all born and raised in Kodiak, and she maintains a deep commitment to the community and to Alutiiq culture.

Alongside her professional roles, Shurina owns and operates Pillar Accounting, her small accounting firm, and remains active in the youth sports community through multiple volunteer positions. She is also a NASM‑certified nutritionist, supporting her passion for community wellness and youth development. Shurina is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Applied Science in Accounting and Business at the University of Southeast Alaska, strengthening her expertise in finance and management.
